Ruby Reimer, Executive Director of Epic Opportunities, is passionate about helping people with intellectual disabilities live their best lives in Manitoba. Inclusion is the foundation of everything her organization does.
“It’s important for people to live the life of their choosing,” Ruby says. “Everyone deserves to make their own choices, feel valued, and be respected.”
Epic Opportunities started as a place where people with intellectual disabilities can belong and thrive. They focus on building connections—because, as Ruby puts it, loneliness is the real disability. By helping people form meaningful relationships with family, friends, and their community, Epic Opportunities gives them the support they need to lead rich, fulfilling lives.
When it came time to upgrade their systems, Ruby and her team knew they needed something tailored to their specific agency needs. That’s when they turned to Inclusion System.
“We chose Inclusion System because of their knowledge of our sector,” Ruby explains. “They’re invested in understanding what we need and what other agencies like us need, and their system has been developed specifically for that purpose. Their values line up with ours, and they really believe in the work that we do”.
For Ruby, keeping track of services and staying fiscally responsible is crucial. Inclusion System helps them do just that, allowing them to generate detailed reports on everything from staff hours to financial data.
“One of the things we really value is the ability to pull data from the system, ” Ruby says. “I don’t think we’ve encountered a situation where a report cannot be made.”
It’s not just the system that stands out to Ruby—it’s the people behind it. Whenever her team runs into an issue, the Inclusion support team is there, ready to help.
“Our experience with their support team has been fantastic,” Ruby says. “Whenever we encounter a problem, they jump to assist us, and it’s it’s the kind of support that’s friendly, genuine, and geared towards solving the problem as quickly as possible.”
Because of this, Ruby has no hesitation recommending Inclusion System to other organizations.
“It’s a system that has worked very well for us,” she says. “And it’s a body of people passionate about making the system work for us.”
